They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I usually don't have breakfast, but I enjoy going to Sarnies when I feel like having a satisfying breakfast. I commend Sarnies for implementing good customizability in their breakfast choices, whether bacon, eggs, avocados, or more. I was pleased by the clean taste of the food, which was all presented with vibrant colours. Sarnies’ feels like an escape from the typical Bangkok choices; the Soi Ton Son Roastery branch is bright and always busy. The fresh smell of coffee and the ambient noise make for a beautiful morning experience.
The coffee industry is worth over $100 billion worldwide, with individual coffee shops having an average 7% annual growth rate. Coffee has become a worldwide sensation, and coffee culture is the new norm. Most people can’t tell the difference between the types; however, with some practice and exposure to high-quality beans, you can distinguish the good from the bad. Coffee and breakfast go hand in hand. Coffee at Sarnies comes in many different forms, all presented simply in their unique choice of cups. I like how they name their coffee beans, and I enjoy the intense creaminess of their dirty coffee, which works well with the fragrant coffee taste.
The "pimp my breakfast" option: in the picture, mushrooms, bread, avocado, eggs (scrambled), and bacon. Although not my preferred style for scrambled eggs, I think the breakfast was cooked well, and I love their mashed avocado with a bit of chilli oil on top; it's not spicy but adds a touch of flavour to the otherwise plain avocados. Their bacon is well-smoked and tasty, but it would be better if it were crispier. These simple components work well together to create a comprehensive and full breakfast. I hope they create preset menu breakfast options so a customer can choose a set instead of waiting for the server to input orders of five or more choices manually.
Sarnies Roastery is a pleasant and bustling shop; it has a wonderfully bright and welcoming atmosphere. The food is natural and inviting, with unique menu options like lemonade coffee or Hochica latte. I highly recommend their tomato soup; it has a strong umami flavour, a bright tomato, and a slightly spicy taste. My main complaints would be that the price and their pastries could be a little more flaky. Their portion sizes are big, and their high pricing; I like their sourdough, which has a good flavour and texture.
I look forward to trying their other outlets and menu concepts.
