If there is one item that keeps me coming back is their cold cuts platter. The flavour of the Prosciutto, the meatiness of their Mortadella with a truffle infusion and their Biroldo (blood pudding ham) is savoury and melts in your mouth. There is also something striking about an elongated wooden chopping board that presents these gems of curated cold cuts. Not to mention the cheese that comes with it. The quality and variety of this platter are a delight to eat every time. I recommend bringing a larger group so that you can share their largest portion; it will be a truly memorable experience.
They have many delicious dishes, all with a good balance of flavours, and all their ingredients usage is minimal and remains palpable. I recommend ordering pasta as well since most of their portions are small. Speaking of pasta, I appreciate the different pasta types and more unconventional sauce pairings you would find at any other Italian restaurant. Lenzi’s menu isn't afraid of using expensive ingredients like truffle and foie gras; I appreciate that they don't bastardise these ingredients when using them. There is care when crafting and making these dishes.
A lovely balance while making sure the meat is still the star. I prefer a tartare that does not overly mince its meat; it's less like eating a raw hamburger patty and more like having a proper starter. Lenzi’s take on tartare was very pleasant and an excellent start to the meal.
I loved the striking presentation of the beef, and I'll be stealing it for the next time I serve fillet mignon at a dinner party. The pieces self-balanced themselves to form four diamond-like medallions on top of simple garnishes and sauces. I loved that the ruby red of the meat shows freshness, and it's a perfect medium rare (my preference). I know that Lenzi has their own farm, which is why their cold cuts are divine, and their meats are always extremely fulfilling to eat. You can taste the quality, and all the extras serve as a way to amplify the prominent flavour without interfering.
Lenzi is very expensive; you are paying for a fine dining experience in a cosy, warm restaurant with a great view of the kitchen. It's not the easiest to get to, located deep into Soi Ruamruedee. For special occasions, I really enjoyed the experience and the uniqueness of it. I recommend taking your family and sharing a large cold-cut platter, pasta, and a main, and rounding it out with pristine dessert. So if you have an anniversary or birthday lined up, Lenzi could be your Tuscan destination of choice. That being said, it is also a romantic and quality atmosphere for your next dinner date.
